NICAR will also consider the following in determining an applicant's qualifications for REALTOR® membership:

1. All final findings of Code of Ethics violations and violations of other membership duties in this or any other REALTOR® association within the past three (3) years

2. Pending ethics complaints (or hearings)

3. Unsatisfied discipline pending

4. Pending arbitration requests (or hearings)

5. Unpaid arbitration awards or unpaid financial obligations to this or any other REALTOR® association or REALTOR® association MLS

6. Any misuse of the term REALTOR® or REALTORS® in the name of the applicant’s firm

This file shall include: previous applications for membership; all final findings of Code of Ethics violations and violations of other membership duties within the past three (3) years; pending complaints alleging violations of the Code of Ethics or alleging violations of other membership duties; incomplete or pending disciplinary measures; pending arbitration requests; and information related to unpaid arbitration awards or unpaid financial obligations to the association or its MLS.Applicant acknowledges that if accepted as a member and he/she subsequently resigns from the association or otherwise causes membership to terminate with an ethics complaint pending, the Board of Directors may condition renewal of membership upon applicant’s certification that he/she will submit to the pending ethics proceeding and will abide by the decision of the hearing panel. If applicant resigns or otherwise causes membership to terminate, the duty to submit to arbitration continues in effect even after membership lapses or is terminated, provided the dispute arose while applicant was a REALTOR®.Dues payments to NICAR are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. NORTHERN ILLINOIS COMMERCIAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Bylaws, Article IV, Section 11 (c) Any former Member, or former applicant previously approved, may be reinstated in the same classification of membership upon recommendation of the Membership Committee and upon approval by the Board of Directors provided said former Member, or applicant, was in good standing at the time of the termination of membership. A reinstatement fee must accompany reinstatement applications.APPLICATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY $100.00 REINSTATEMENT FEE AND PRORATED DUES If coming from another association and have paid State and National dues through your previous Board, fee is NICAR dues only (reinstatement fees are waived). If you have been out of the association for 3 years or more then you must fill out the new member application and pay those fees.

We strongly urge you to consult with your tax advisor. *RPAC, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee, collects contributions from members and uses those funds to help elect candidates for public office who are supportive of home ownership, private property rights, and the real estate industry. Copies of reports for RPAC of Illinois are on file and available for purchases from the State Board of Elections, Springfield, Illinois. Funds will only be sent to National RPAC if the contribution qualifies for use in Federal elections pursuant to Federal election laws.
